Implement ERP around a verified business process
ERP implementation turns your business process into a working configuration of SERP ERP. The scope may include sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, finance, HR and projects. Start with the departments and transactions that need to work together, then agree which modules belong in the first release.
Data preparation is a separate part of the work. Review item codes, customers, suppliers, account structures and opening records before migration. Assign owners to check the imported information. A technically successful import is not enough if departments disagree about the balances or classifications.
Test complete transactions before go-live: create an order, record the related stock or production activity, and review the resulting finance and management reports. Agree acceptance checks, user training and the support process with the people who will operate the system.
